I have no favorite quotation.
A friend quoted Maya Angelou to help me know more about people and be more equipped to deal with them:
"The first time someone shows you who they are, believe them."
One that I've always believed, even before I heard it:

and, a quote I don't know if it was anonymous or not, but I thought it was amusing:
"If you want someone to love you and always be excited when you're around, buy a puppy"
