Mary & Drew are so awesome! I've been over to their place several times in these past two weeks. They were actually the ones who picked me up from the airport. Sierra, their kid, cries a bit much for my comfort, but hey, doesn't really matter that much. She's still really animated and cute most of the time.
Shiseikai Karate - Tuesday night, our black belt (super-awesome person) was the one who came to lead practice. I was in the room, talking to the two other members who I actually knew from before when Chris came in. I greeted him & he said hey back & did the BEST double-take when he realized it was me. Tim (green belt--first teaching belt when I left, now married, graduated, and has a black belt) is pretty awesome, too. A little standoffish, but I can understand that. I had a crush on him before I left and now he's taken & doesn't realize he's not the only one who's changed. Karate is still so invigorating. It makes me feel so powerful and in control of what's going on. If I'm not perfect, I can just keep coming back and learn more and more
A previous best friend... She broke up with someone I think/thought is awesome and married a guy I really really disliked. A couple times while I was gone and had called her, she complained to me about how this one guy was being so full of himself and this that and the other. Now they're married. There was a housewarming party that I went to yesterday and it seems like he's changed. However, I need to fix my brain at least a bit more before I can adjust to that way of thinking.
Devin - new friend. One of my friends in SC put me in contact with him so he could help me find housing. I ended up living at his parent's house for $210 a month (including power, internet, heating, & food). With the definition of me as my own family, there are six families that live here. That's 21 people living in one house. ANYWAYS... he is really good at talking and I've been sucked into long conversations on several occasions. It's fun. I don't really know why, but I felt really comforted when talking to him about my past relationships and current inability to watch romantic movies. Yay for acceptance =D
What do you know? Boys CAN be more than just the most effective way to break your heart.

Apples and sleeptalking
So... yesterday, VERY early morning (I wake up at 3 or 4am sometimes, by design), I was plagued by gas. Luckily, it didn't really smell--it was apple-induced. Back to the story: I had been farting and farting and farting for quite some time and all of a sudden, my 11-year-old roommate yelled out "Gross!" I was surprised--I didn't think she was awake. After a couple seconds, I guiltily said "Excuse me." My subsequent gas, I tried to have a little quieter and be more aware that I wasn't the only person in the room.
XD
Later on that day, I remembered that she yells out randomly in her sleep and was almost definitely not awake, but still...
